Yellowish toned teeth can often cause issues to the appearance of your teeth. We slowly start to become more aware of them, thus, we subconsciously feel like we have to hide our smile.

To restore your beautiful and attractive smile, our team of dental experts has got you covered with the most effective treatments. We provide several hassle-free and painless solutions for this issue. There are a number of options for you to choose from.

Store Bought Teeth Whitening Products

These days there are several whitening products that can easily be purchased at your local grocery store. Some of these products do actually work, but there is always a risk of harming your teeth. A person with insufficient knowledge may start using them and be unaware of these risks. These can result in teeth deterioration; sometimes, the damage is even beyond repair.

To prevent such circumstances, our team of dental professionals is always there for you. It is recommended that you consult our highly qualified dental professionals before experimenting with such agents. We can analyze your teeth if they are healthy enough for such treatments and give you a professional opinion on which path would be the most suitable in your case.

Take-Home Whitening Kits

At-home whitening kits allow you to gently whiten your teeth at home. The results are not as dramatic as laser whitening, but you will obtain results that are several shades whiter in just a couple of weeks.

You will need to have mouth guards made to hold the gel, which you wear at night. In the morning, you simply take them out and rinse them to remove the gel, so they are ready to wear the next time. Clean your teeth thoroughly as normal to remove all traces of the gel from your teeth.

To obtain the mouth guards, we will need to make impressions of your mouth. These are sent to a laboratory where your mouthguards are made to fit. You can come back to pick them up and receive your supply of whitening gel. You can get further supplies of gel from us, and those who have had laser teeth whitening use the whitening kits to help keep their smile white.

Professional In-Office Whitening

Laser Teeth Whitening

During this treatment, a rubber dam is placed over your teeth to ensure your gums are protected, and a bleaching product is applied onto the teeth. After these steps have been taken, a laser is shone that activates the chemical and ultimately makes the teeth four to five shades lighter. The results with this treatment can be seen quite immediately as this process takes around 20 minutes.

This procedure is preferred by most patients because no post-treatment medication is required, and you can simply walk out of our office with your new bright smile.

In Office Bleaching

This procedure, also known as chairside bleaching, is also highly preferred as it only requires one sitting.
•  First, we apply a gingival barrier to prevent any contact of the bleach with the gums.
•  Once we have ensured that the gums are shielded, we are now ready to apply the chemical once we have combined the bleach with the activator.
•  Then we will leave the activated bleach on for about 15 to 20 minutes and remove it through suction after the required period.
•  These steps may be repeated depending on the severity of the case but not more than three times.

The bleaching agents and activating chemicals that we use are certified products and of the best quality the market has to offer.

How Long Does Professional Teeth Whitening Last?

You may see improvements using teeth whitening treatments, however they may vary depending on the chosen method.

If you take care of your teeth and refrain from consuming too much coffee, cigarettes, and alcohol, the effects of laser teeth whitening can last up to three years, but of course, this usually varies from person to person.

Is Teeth Whitening Safe?

Teeth whitening is a safe and common practice, and this has seen an increase in the production of multiple products in the form of toothpaste, trays, strips, gels, and others in large amounts.

The practice is effective for as long as your teeth are healthy and have no restoration history. It is, however, crucial to seek dentists' advice before undertaking the process, to ascertain the best substance for your teeth. You can visit us at Premier Dental for consultations and other dental procedures from our team of experts.

Teeth Whitening FAQs

Does Teeth Whitening Damage Your Teeth?

If you are looking to whiten your teeth, you should know whitening treatments are not effective on composite resins. Healthy teeth and gums without fillings, caps, or crowns will be able to whiten with peroxide treatments. It is important to know that only natural teeth can be whitened, in most cases tooth colored restorations cannot be bleached.

It is also important that you know that whitening your teeth can pose a few risks. After a whitening treatment you are likely to experience some degree of gum irritation afterwards the more you treat your smile. Tooth sensitivity can also occur, but mild irritation of the soft tissues of the mouth is most common.

How Long After Teeth Whitening Can I Eat Normally?

Depending on the type of whitening procedure you had, it is generally recommended that you stay away from potentially staining foods and drinks for at least 24 hours. Your teeth may be sensitive during this first period as well, so you may want to choose foods that are easy to chew.

What to Eat After Teeth Whitening?

It is best to refrain from eating or drinking dark pigmented foods and drinks that can discolor your teeth such as coffee, tea, and berries. Cigarettes and alcohol can also contribute to discoloration of your teeth.
