5 Best Practices for Excellent Oral HealthWe all know that brushing and flossing our teeth are extremely important for our oral health. However, Our doctors and at Premier Dental advise there are five easy practices you should maintain to make your teeth exceptionally strong and healthy.

Keeping Check of the Changes in Your Mouth

Your oral health largely depends on the type of food you eat, your oral health regimen, your lifestyle habits, the amount of saliva produced in your mouth, your hormones and your overall health. For example, pregnant women may experience pregnancy gingivitis. Therefore, to take care of your oral health, you need to first keep check of the changes occurring in your mouth and find out why they are happening.

At Premier Dental, Our doctors and can help you understand the cause of your oral health issues.

Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride treatment is beneficial to children over the age of two as well as adults. You can use fluoride toothpaste to remineralize your enamel as well as take professional fluoride treatment at Premier Dental that can protect your teeth.

Limit Intake of Sugary Food

Every time you eat starchy or sticky food, you are providing fuel for the bacteria in your mouth to produce acid. This acid eats away at your enamel and cause the inflammation of the gums, resulting in tooth decay and gum disease.

Make sure you limit the intake of sugary food and brush your teeth after eating starchy food. Eating a balanced diet is also good for tooth health.

Avoid Tobacco and Alcohol

Use of tobacco in any form and excessive consumption of alcohol can lead to tooth stains, bad breath, plaque, gum disease, and even oral cancer. If you misuse tobacco and alcohol, we strongly suggest you receive treatment for it.

Examine Your Mouth

Make a habit of examining your mouth intimately to look for any problematic signs like sores, lesions, bleeding and/or swollen gums, stained teeth, fractures and cavities in teeth, or bad breath.

If you notice any of these issues, call us at 731-300-3000 for treatment.

At Premier Dental, we can help you determine the frequency of your dental visits. If you have a history of dental cavities, gum disease, or immunity-related conditions, we may recommend more frequent dental checkups, depending on your needs.
